This page explains the most important risks of the treatments offered through Elevate Optimal. It's general information, not medical advice, and does not replace your medication label or your provider's instructions. In an emergency, call 911.
Before you start, tell your provider about
Every prescription and over-the-counter medicine and supplement you take, any allergies, recent or planned surgery, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your full personal and family medical history.
Optimal Weight: Optimal Weight — Core and Optimal Weight — Peak (compounded weekly injections)
Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. They are not generic versions of, and are not equivalent or interchangeable with, any FDA-approved brand-name product. Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN2); medicines in this class caused thyroid tumors in animal studies. Possible serious risks: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (higher with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems from dehydration, changes in vision for people with diabetic eye disease, and allergic reactions. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are trying to conceive. Tell any surgeon or anaesthetist you use this medicine. Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and tiredness. Get emergency help for severe stomach pain that won't go away, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.
Optimal Drive: Optimal Drive — As Needed and Optimal Drive — Daily (FDA-approved generic oral tablets)
Never take with nitrate medicines for chest pain or a heart condition, or with "poppers". This can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your provider about heart problems, stroke, low or high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, or blood-pressure and prostate medicines (alpha-blockers). Get emergency help for chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Common side effects: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back pain and muscle aches.
Optimal Skin: Optimal Skin — Renew (FDA-approved generic topical cream)
Not for use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive. Commonly causes redness, peeling, dryness, burning and stinging, especially in the first weeks. It makes skin more sensitive to the sun: use sunscreen daily, cover up, and avoid tanning beds. Don't apply to broken, sunburned or eczema-affected skin, and avoid the eyes, mouth and nostrils.
Add-on your provider may offer in your account
Nausea Support (FDA-approved generic tablet, for Optimal Weight patients only): may cause headache, constipation or tiredness; rarely, heart-rhythm changes. Tell your provider about heart-rhythm problems or medicines that affect heart rhythm.
Who should not use Elevate Optimal
